ARGUMENTO
El doctor Richard, un prestigioso psiquiatra que trabaja en una afamada clínica suiza, comienza a tratar a la atractiva Nicole Warren, una adinerada chica con serios problemas emocionales. Juntos viajan a la costa francesa, donde viven un gran amor.

Último film de Henry King que adapta una de las mejores novelas de F. Scott Fitzgerald, cuya biografía había narrado parcialmente en Días sin vida, su película anterior. Según Zelda, la esposa del escritor, había "mucho de su propia vida", en el libro. King se muestra bastante fiel al original y trata temas habituales en la obra del escritor, como el idealismo malogrado.
