This film shows Cagney at his best. He is breezy, combative, dances, speaks fluent Yiddish, and is a commanding presence. So, why didn't I like this film? Mainly because of two female characters. First of all, Loretta Young, who plays Cagney's love interest and later his wife is fine until the last 20 minutes of the film. Then she becomes devastatingly annoying as she says and does all kinds of impossible things to try and keep him from killing his arch-enemy bad guy. But, when it comes to annoying, no one can ever come close to Leila Bennett, who plays the role of Young's best friend. I have seen Bennett in several films and she always plays the same type of role. An almost constant talker who drones on in a monotone, boring the bejeevers out of the viewers. To make things worse, she seems to be omni-present, literally showing up throughout the entire film. Cagney is always fun to watch but he can be seen in so many other good films without these annoying other characters so, unless you absolutely having nothing else to do for an hour or so, I respectfully suggest that you skip this movie.

La pelicula esta un poco hecha polvo, sobretodo el audio, ademas tiene el inconveniente de que solo esta en ingles, asi que...De todas formas viendo por encima la pelicula para poneros las capturas, me han entrado unas ganas tremendas de verla.

Descargada y compartiendo. La película tiene muy buena pinta, pero con unos subs estaría perfecta....

Ya sé que esta película está en la lista de películas de cine negro americano (1927-1960) I. Sin embargo, como al bajarla descubrí que como no es una buena copia (no bien grabada de TCM), hice algo que nunca había hecho antes descubriendo un nuevo uso para el Adobe Audition después de años de restaurar tangos:

Restauré (o por lo menos lo intenté) el sonido original para que no sea tan metálico... y puedo compartirlo con todos ustedes. Por alguna razón, en enlace a Gigasize falla: el mismo debe terminar así: /Taxi__(1932).mp3

La ficha técnica no viene de IMDb sino de la base de datos de TCM (armada junto al American Film Institute). Cuando en paréntesis se utilizan la palabra (offscreen) se refieren a que la persona no está acreditada en la pantalla:

Synopsis:

Independent taxi driver Pop Riley is forced off his corner by a company trying to control the taxi business and, while defending himself, shoots and kills one of the gang. He is sentenced to prison. Some of the independent drivers call a meeting and ask Pop's daughter Sue to speak. Hot-tempered Matt Nolan is furious with Sue when instead of urging the drivers to action, she reports that violence will not be effective. She adds that her father just died in prison. Despite his anger, Matt starts dating Sue. She likes him, but is disturbed by his ready temper. He even starts a fight on the way to the marriage license bureau. Celebrating with friends at a nightclub the evening after their marriage, Matt and Sue are insulted by Buck Gerard, the man responsible for the attacks on the independents. Sue manages to prevent Matt from responding, but when Matt's brother Dan tries to talk Gerard into leaving, Gerard stabs and kills him. Matt refuses to tell the police who killed his brother because he wants to take revenge himself. Knowing how much Sue wants to prevent this, Marie, Gerard's girl, begs her for the money to help Gerard leave town. Matt learns about her visit and follows Sue to Gerard's hideout. Marie and Sue manage to keep Matt from Gerard long enough for the police to arrive. At the last minute, Matt empties his gun into the door of the room where Gerard is hiding, but the police find when they open the door that he has fallen to his death while trying to escape. Sue decides to leave Matt, but before she finally moves away, Matt begs her to come back and she agrees.

Por cierto, la versión de radiotelefonia está claro que tiene el sonido restaurado, pero no se especifica si es sonido original inglés o español.

Buenas. Acabo de comprobar que el enlace de radiotelefonia es el mismo que puso en su día thelion.

Buenas:

No sabía que había un enlace anterior, no lo había encontrado a pesar de haberlo buscado durante algunos días.

La razón por lo que lo puse es porque logré mejorar un poco el sonido de la película original (cosa que me viene bien para arreglar otras películas que lo necesitan urgentemente).

Para que aparezcan una copia de mejor calidad, subtítulos, o doblaje, hay que esperar que TCM en América latina la pase, cosa muy difícil ya que por ahí la versión del canal el sinceramente pésima.

Sinopsis:
A huge box office success and a key film in James Cagney's rise to stardom, this drama stars Cagney as Matt Nolan, a gritty New York City cab driver who is being squeezed by a monopolistic taxi trust which uses force to run him and other independent cabbies away from the most profitable locations. Nolan is dating his daughter, Sue (Loretta Young), and they enter a Peabody dance contest at a local nightclub. Cagney dances on screen for the first time, and so does George Raft as Willie Kenny, another dancing tough guy who was a friend of Cagney's, who pushed Warner Bros. to give Cagney the role. Nolan marries Sue Riley, and she tries to get him to cool down. But the taxi trust goons kill his brother Danny (Ray Cooke), and Nolan goes on a rampage. In several filmed gun battles, live machine-gun bullets are used, as they were in Cagney's famed The Public Enemy. This is the last time Cagney allowed that.

"Come out and take it, you yellow-bellied rat," James Cagney snarls after cornering the hood that killed his younger brother. The line, with a bit of poetic license, has been quoted ever since and has become sort of a litmus test for any impersonator worth his salt. Cagney, needless to say, is at the top of his form in Taxi, an otherwise oddball gangster thriller that sometimes veers dangerously into parody. Not that Cagney is the only tough guy around; there is also George Raft, who, after defeating Cagney and partner Loretta Young in a dance contest, triumphantly sneers, "How do you like that, wise guy!" After which, Cagney simply slugs him. Even the otherwise so ladylike Young gets in on the act. Warned that "for two cents I'd knock the ears off you," Young retorts, "For less than that I'd slap your face!" Taxi is simply that kind of movie.

Lamentablemente no se que pasa pero no puedo poner imagenes con ninguno de los programas que lo he intentado,ni el virtual dub,ni el videolan.Si algun compañero me dice otra solucion pondre imagenes ya que tengo la copia ya descargada.

Pueden hacerse capturas con varios visualizadores. Yo utilizo para ello el KMPlayer, que lo consigue de forma muy sencilla, con click derecho del ratón sobre la pantalla cuando se está visualizando.
