A small-town doctor (William Prince) gets caught up in a revenge plot when his small daughter is kidnapped and buried alive as he is given a few short hours to find her before she suffocates. To cover the risk of a heart attack while viewing the film, Producer-Director William Castle provided each member of the audience with an official certificate issued by Lloyds of London to insure them for $1,000 against death by fright. The gimmick worked and Castle was on his way to movie exploitation stardom!

Comment from IMDb: When I first saw this movie, I was around 9 or 10 years old. This is William Castle's first "official" horror movie. There are no monsters in it and no killers, at least no "graphic" killings, but for some reason, this has always been one of my favorite William Castle movies. I remember watching it real late at night. I think the intro and the end credits were somehow "scary" to me. At the end, as the credits are rolling, there is a cartoon of a "macabre" parade walking by. I still remember that to this day. One of the cartoon characters is carrying his own head. I'm 50 years old now and it's funny how a person can remember insignificant stuff like that over the years. I sure wish this movie would be released on DVD. I would love to see it in crystal clarity like the other William Castle movies that have been released on DVD.

Genial aporte.
El primero de los films terroríficos de barraca de feria de Castle... y de los menos difundidos.
La pincho a pelo, a ver si hay suerte con los subtítulos (porque doblaje no me suena).

Hola, no os quiero desilusionar ni nada por el estilo, pero es una de las bromas más macabras que ha hecho el Sr. Castle con sus futuros seguidores. La he visto en italiano, y el terror que vende en portada brilla por su ausencia, de todas formas es un gran divertimento que no debeis perderos para conocer la obra de este gran director de serie, prolífico como Corman, asi que a bajarla.
