I've muxed the English audio to the rip and I'm giving the Italian audio as separate files. The English audio is in synch with the actors' lip movements, whereas the Italian audio isn't. (But the English srt subs translate the Italian audio which differs occasionally from the English audio.)

The source for the video on alk dvd editions (Luce; Criterion; Carlotta) is the Luce edition, which of course has Italian titles (also for Pascal and Socrate) and Italian sound.
The idea of these productions was for TV; therefore subtitles were not possible; therefore each language market would produce its own voice dubbing; therefore it didn't matter to Rossellini what language actors spoke, or maybe just numbers; also Rossellini didn't participate in the post-production (the dubbing). So there is no possibility of saying that one language edition is more "original" than another -- except in terms of whether the audio is in the same language the actors were speaking during the shooting (and whether the voices are those of the same actors). And even so, the question of comprehensibility overrides the question of "original": Rossellini wanted these movies to be in the language of the audience.
In the case of The Medici, it was shot in English because it was intended for sale to American public TV (PBS, which rejected it), but not in direct sound (one reason for the rejection). It was dubbed in Rome in English and in Italian. The Italian dubbing is no more "authentic" than would be a dubbing into, say, German made by German TV today.

The division into three episodes with the titles given above corresponds to the Italian edition. The English-language edition divides the film into two episodes: Cosimo de’ Medici (2 parts) l and The Age of Cosimo de’ Medici: Leon Battista Alberti: Humanism.
