WHY CHANGE YOUR WIFE? (1920)

Traigo la segunda película del miniciclo Cecil B. DeMille que comencé con The Call of the North. Se trata de una excelente comedia sobre el matrimonio, el divorcio y la vuelta atrás. Excelente por la realización, de primerísima categoría, DeMille era a menudo un narrador extraordinario y aquí lo demuestra con creces. No tan excelente por su planteamiento, digamos, antropológico. En un nº muy reciente de la revista Dirigido por..., el crítico José Mª Latorre hablaba en una reseña de "The Plainsman" de la misoginia de Cecil B. DeMille, a la que calificaba de legendaria. Esta que os traigo, es una película que desprende misoginia por todas partes, o al menos, a mí me lo parece. Aún así, es excelente, es puro cine y eso creo que hay que valorarlo por encima de cualquier otra consideración. No quiero olvidarme de destacar a una todavía muy joven Gloria Swanson, a la que se le aprecian aún las redondeces de la adolescencia, lejos de la dura máscara en la que luego se convirtió.

Sinopsis

Encontre los intertitulos de esta pelicula y los tengo en un archivo .txt.... yo me comprometo a hacer el archivo .str si alguien los traduce....realmente es poco trabajo (alrededor de 110 entradas de texto). Gracias por anticipado
